🌒 Black Moon Lilith: The Astrological Significance
Black Moon Lilith (BML) is not a physical celestial body like a planet, but rather a mathematical point in the Moon’s orbit, specifically the point farthest from the Earth (the lunar apogee). Astrologically, it represents the raw, untamed feminine energy that refuses to be subjugated.
The Myth: BML is rooted in a compelling alternative Hebrew creation myth, where Lilith was Adam’s first wife. She demanded equality and, upon being denied, left the Garden of Eden of her own free will rather than submitting. This act makes her a powerful symbol of autonomy and defiance.
The Shadow Self: In a natal chart, the sign and house position of BML indicate where a person holds their deepest repressed power, shadow, and primal desires. It points to the parts of the self that have been judged, exiled, or rejected by society (or the individual) out of fear or shame.
Reclaiming Power: Working with BML is a journey of radical self-acceptance. It encourages us to confront our taboos, our anger, our vulnerability, and the energy we feel we must hide. By understanding BML, we can reclaim our primal sovereignty and integrate the powerful, often marginalized, aspects of our personality.
